Egg,
Bunny, and Lily are the most famous icons of Easter. These have become
associated with Easter over the centuries in such a manner that we can
not think of Easter celebrations without them. They are so hugely
popular all around the world that we find them in many forms. From
decoration, to fun, from confectionery to meal, from rites to rhymes,
they are everywhere during the Easter. As Christianity spread, more
familiar traditions and symbols like eggs, bunnies and lilies and
celebrations of spring came to be associated with Easter. The egg
promises new life as in spring, birds, and many other animals are
hatched from eggs. Bunny represents hare or rabbit which in turn
symbolizes moon- the symbol of coolness and calmness. We will find, in
our write up about each one of them, what they stand for and how they
came to be associated with Easter?
